100% Online Conferences: ASHA Case Study
With "How To" Discussion and Demonstration
|
Webinar Abstract:
To attend a face-to-face conference, you travel to a conference site. With an online ("virtual") conference, the conference site comes to you. Keynote addresses, breakout sessions, exhibit halls and live webcasts are all components of these meeting events. Online conferences can take place in both real time (synchronously) and any time (asynchronously)—they can extend your face-to-face annual meeting or be entirely online.
In this live educational webinar, Jack Coursen and Parrish Swann of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) will discuss the business and production aspects of their highly successful online conference series. We will review a recent conference site and have time for lively audience Q&A.
The ASHA Online Conference series began in September 2006 with the first Audiology online conference. Pricing was $79 mbrs, $109 nonmbrs and there were 125 registrants. Today, registration fees are nearly five times as high and attendance is up, with nearly two thousand attendees flocking to as many as 4 online conferences per year.
