Challenge: The Library of Congress has a critical need for education of worldwide personnel and partners. For example, training is needed for the new Resource Description and Access (RDA) program to provide staff members with sufficient knowledge and skills to function as RDA catalogers when they finish classroom training. Challenge: The U.S. Forest Service (USFS) is the lead federal agency in natural resource conservation. It's Sustainable Operations (SUSOPS) Summit is an important meeting where foresters from across the nation share best practices in areas such as Renewable Energy, Sustainability Science and Green Purchasing. Due to travel restrictions, the SUSOPS conference was in jeopardy of being cancelled. How can USFS continue to deliver this vital conference experience in spite of budget constraints?

Solution: In 2012, the USFS-SUSOPS conference adopted iCohere's hybrid conference approach, which allowed over 90% of all conference attendees and presenters to participate from remote locations. More than 650 USFS personnel participated in 29 interactive sessions over 3 days. USFS saved $810K in travel, $150K in conference facilities, and 357 tons of CO2.

Challenge: The DoL Youthbuild program supports workforce development for out-of-school American youth between the ages of 16-24. Habitat for Humanity and other nationwide programs get funding through the Youthbuild program. Youthbuild program managers must be trained to run their programs efficiently. How can Youthbuild manage their national program and deliver excellent training with increasingly tight budgets and resources?

The Youthbuild community of practice provides one-stop shopping for all Youthbuild program managers: a single, integrated portal for the program's trainings, discussion forums, program documentation, and calendar of events.

Challenge: For more than 150 years, The Government Printing Office (GPO) has kept America informed by producing and distributing Federal government information products. GPO recently deployed a massive new digital research system, called FDsys, for accessing "America's Authentic Government Information" and supporting Federal Depository Libraries worldwide. How can GPO train thousands of federal depository librarians worldwide on the new digital system and keep them up-to-date as FDsys evolves?

Solution: GPO uses the iCohere platform to produce a large webinar series for federal depository librarian education and extend the Interagency Depository Conference virtually to librarian participants worldwide.

Challenge: The U.S. Department of Justice National Institute of Corrections has been providing technical assistance, training, and information to the corrections field since 1974. However, travel and conference restrictions are severely limiting NIC's ability to deliver on its education mission. How can the NIC continue to provide training and information to professional corrections officers nationwide in spite of travel restrictions?

Solution: iCohere is providing the online platform, design consultation, and support services for NIC's inaugural virtual conference, "Cuff Key to Door Key: A Systems Approach to Re-Entry." The NIC's June 2013 virtual conference will offer live interactive webinars, on-demand expert presentations, and discussion forums to more than 1,000 criminal justice and corrections professionals nationwide.
