Webcast Abstract:
To attend a face-to-face conference, you travel to a conference site. With an online ("virtual") conference, the conference site comes to you. Keynote addresses, breakout sessions, exhibit halls and live webcasts are all components of these meeting events. Virtual conferences can take place in both real time (synchronously) and any time (asynchronously)—they can extend your face-to-face annual meeting or be entirely online.
In this educational webcast, Ashleigh Hodge of Abt Associates will discuss the business and production aspects of their USAID SHOPS e-conference series. We will review a recent conference site and have time for lively audience Q&A.
The case study The USAID SHOPS 2-day technical conferences attract hundreds of attendees in over fifty (50) countries worldwide. The conferences contain a mix of live and pre-recorded sessions led by worldwide experts. Recent conference topics are Expanding Access to Finance for Health and Integrating Zinc into Diarrhea Management. All the online presentations are compliant with American Disabilities Act (ADA) Section 508 for computer users with disabilities.

Ashleigh Hodge is a Communications Analyst with the USAID-funded Strengthening Health Outcomes through the Private Sector (SHOPS) project at Abt Associates. Ms. Hodge joined the PSP-One project in November 2007 as a Communications Analyst with Banyan Global. She later joined Abt Associates in November 2009 as a Communications Associate Analyst, where her role includes providing technical communications support on all SHOPS project communications activities—including website design/development, oversight of daily website activities, publication management, online and in-person event planning and management, strategic digital marketing and branding. She has worked across the company's International Health division, providing communications support for the 4th Sector Health project and corporate communications. Ms. Hodge graduated from Hampton University with a BA in Print Journalism and English.

Robyn Moulding designs and delivers iCohere platform training for new clients, and also manages the production services team. Robyn assists clients in site branding and their initial site rollout programs, including customized welcome and instructional presentations. She writes iCohere training materials, including User Guides,Administrator Guides, and instructional PowerPoint/Flash presentations. Robyn also co-manages the iCohere User's Group site, a community of practice and training site for iCohere site administrators. Robyn joined iCohere in 2003.
