Barbara Butts-Williams, Faculty Director,
MBA Program, Capella University
Dr. Butts-Williams earned her Doctorate in Human and Organizational Systems and
a Masters in Organizational Development from the Fielding Graduate Institute,
a Masters in Business and Leadership from Hamline University, and a BA in History
from Morgan State University. Her current research interest is on the meaning
and significance of work in people's lives. She has taught and presented extensively
on the topics of marketing, leadership, and organizational change. |

Jay Cross, CEO eLearning Forum
& Founder, Internet Time Group
Jay Cross has been passionate about harnessing technology to improve adult learning
since the sixties. Jay founded Internet Time Group in early 1998 to help organizations
learn. His five-year scenario plan, the Internet Time Machine, presented at TechLearn
98, was one of the earliest descriptions of eLearning. He delivered the inaugural
keynote on web marketing to the first meeting of the Online Banking Association.
He has spoken at eLearning Forum, Training, Online Educa, Image World, Instructional
Systems Association, Training Directors Forum, Online Learning, ASTD, and many
other conferences. He is the author of numerous articles and white papers on eLearning
and business effectivness. He is co-founder and fellow of the Meta-Learning Lab.
Jay advised CBT Systems during its transition to SmartForce, the eLearning Company,
writing newsletters, presentations, and white papers. He helped Cisco e-Learning
Partners plan, implement, and market their initial web-based certification programs.
He designed the e-commerce website that took ClickAction from bricks to clicks.
He co-authored (with Wayne Hodgins) the vision paper that kicked off the ASTD/National
Governors Association Committee on Technology and Adult Learning. He contributed
a chapter to the recent book Implementing E-Learning Solutions. He assisted Institute
for the Future in building scenarios for global corporate learning circa 2008.

Technology for Learning, and American Banker. |

Colleen Dietz, Associate Director, Center
for Distance Learning, USC
Colleen Dietz is the Associate Director of the Center for Distance Learning at
the University of Southern California. In this capacity she is responsible for
ensuring the academic integrity of all courses that are designed for delivery
in a fully or partial online environment. Colleen has overseen the conversion
of several courses at the graduate and undergraduate level as well as consulted
with project managers of many more academic programs. Prior to this position,
Colleen was in the USC School of Business developing and delivering certificate
programs customized for the corporate sector. Many of these were online and for
work teams, requiring that the lessons be applicable.
Colleen is currently completing her Masters in Online Learning and Teaching from
Cal State Hayward. She earned a Bachelors Degree in Journalism from USC. She has
worked at USC for more than 25 years, having started there as a student. |

Ronald Kantor, Learning Architecture
Group, Accenture
Having worked as a learning architect and manager for Accenture for the past 6 years, Ron has been involved in the development of numerous innovative learning products both in face to face and virtual classroom settings for Accenture's employees. He is currently working on the design of learning envionrments that can be used to teach ERP applications via blend solutions that include training, application simulations and performance support tools. His area of specialization is collaborative learning and the use of technology to enhance and facilitate individual and group learning. A former professor at the University of Houton Clear Lake, Ron was a NASA Fellow and consultant to the Flight Crew Support Division at the Johnson Space Center. He was a member of the Cognition and Technology Group at Vanderbilt, a leading media designer for the Learning Technology Center at Peabody College, and helped develop the Jasper Satellite Challenge Series. Ron received an MFA in design from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and a BA from Bard College in New York. He is also a Northwestern School of Speech Fellow and a member of the Masie Consortium's Industry Trends research group. |

Soren Kaplan, Co-Founder, iCohere
Soren Kaplan is a co-founder of iCohere, a software and consulting organization
focused on building collaborative online communities for distributed teams, groups
and organizations. Soren provides overall leadership for iCohere's business development,
marketing and client services activities. He also designs, organizes and hosts
iCohere's ConferenceLink online conference series that includes the Collaborative
Learning, Collaborative Communities, and Collaborative Learning 2004 conferences
As a speaker and authority on collaboration, web communities and online learning,
Soren has presented at conferences, institutes and universities including the
Organization Development National Conference, the American Society of Training
and Development, the e-Learning Forum, the Creative Education Foundation, Alliant
University, and the Harvard Business School. Quotes and articles from Soren have
appeared in numerous publications including Fast Company, Collaborate, ASTD's
Learning Circuits, Strategy & Leadership, the Journal of Creativity and Innovation
Management, and the Journal of Strategic Change. Prior to founding iCohere, Soren
held numerous positions at Hewlett-Packard Company including Manager of Business
Strategy Services where he led an internal consulting group that assisted management
teams across the company with strategic planning and organizational development.
Before joining HP, Soren was a consultant with Cambridge, MA based IdeaScope Associates
and consulted to global 500 companies, including Kodak, Siemens, Nestle, Avery
Dennison, and 3M. Soren holds Master's and Ph.D. degrees in Organizational Psychology. |

Lisa Neal, Editor-in-Chief, eLearn
Magazine
Lisa Neal is Editor-in-Chief of ACM eLearn Magazine, and an Adjunct Professor in The Department of Family Medicine and Community Health at Tufts Medical School. Lisa consults on e-learning projects with museums and corporate, academic, and government clients. Lisa was awarded the 2003 U.S. Distance Learning Association (USDLA) Award for Most Outstanding Achievement by an Individual in Corporate/ Business. She holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Harvard University.

Janet Salmons, President, Vision2Lead, Inc.
Janet is on the faculty of the Capella University School of Business, where she
develops and teaches courses in leadership, management, and topics such as management
of virtual teams, organizations and communities. Janet practices what she teaches
through Vision2Lead, Inc., where her company consults in organizational and leadership
development online and off for educational institutions, nonprofit and private
sector organizations. A new initiative, Elearn2Lead, focuses on leadership development
and online learning. Current projects involve work with the Lynn University Institute
for Distance Learning, Southeastern Community College Distance and E-Learning,
the National Endowment for the Arts Theatre Program, and TechSoup.
She is a frequent conference speakeron and offline. Most recently she presented
Virtual Learning Community: Training Staff & Volunteers for the Wired.org:
Nonprofits and NGOs Work the Web online conference, and Online Communities to
Enhance Learning for Your Organization, a one-week online event. Her e-workbook,
Leadership on E-Time is available on www.booklocker.com and her articles appear
in eLearn Magazine, and the E-Philanthropy and Technology Review.
Janets eclectic background includes extensive work with nonprofit organizations.
She offered leadership development and management coaching as Director for Training
and Affiliate Services for MAGIC Me, an organization that offered intergenerational
programs for at-risk youth and elders. Janet founded and directed two programs
based at Cornell University: Cornell Theatre Outreach and the Community Based
Arts Program. These programs offered local, regional and national projects that
used drama, storytelling and simulations to address issues of race, class, gender
in the workplace, academic and community settings. The Xerox Managing Diversity
program for senior management, Cornell University Results-Oriented Supervision
series, NYS Child Protective Services Institute as well as local schools and community
centers were a few of the participating organizations. |
