As part of the 2008 ASAE & The Center's Annual Meeting in San Diego, iCohere CEO & Founder Pascal Kaplan, Ph.D. co-presented at a breakout session with Susan Sarfati, CAE, former President & CEO of The Center for Association Leadership and Executive VP, ASAE.

They focused their session, Behind the Scenes of the Global Summit on Social Responsibility: Vision, Process and Technology, on methods to create a successful event that blends both online and face-to-face participants in real-time. The Global Summit brought together 400 face-to-face participants with 600 users from 12 countries. They also discussed techniques to engage people in the process and ways to sustain a vibrant online community after the official event.

For the Global Summit, ASAE & The Center used Appreciative Inquiry (AI), a strengths-based organizational change method that helped surface workable ideas into the association community. As the exclusive software provider for AI, iCohere worked hand-in-hand with ASAE & The Center on each step of the process.

If you have further questions about how such an ambitious initiative can be funded and implemented, why Appreciative Inquiry was chosen as the facilitation approach, or how the technical design managed to coordinate input from over 23 locations worldwide, as well as hundreds of virtual participants, please contact Lance Simon:
